hitman 7 This is a game that is difficult to generalize and defy categorization. It’s all a one-off – it’s a bunch of ideas thrown at the player, but it somehow works. It’s a frothy, sizzling thing that shouldn’t stick together, but it definitely does, and nearly 20 years later it’s still considered one of the best gaming experiences you’ll ever play one. PC users had to wait a long time to get their hands on it, and now, six years after it hit Steam, it’s getting a new coat of paint.
In order to complete this update, Killer7’s developers had to look back and move forward. Using the original GameCube footage as a base, the horror game’s cutscenes have been upgraded and smoother. This should bring things more in line with the game’s original vision and make them more accessible to people using computers made in the 2020s.
In fact, you should see improvements across the board, especially on the graphical side of the game. Likewise, everything is smoother and runs at a higher resolution, with upgraded fonts and textures – there’s even 4K support if you want to really immerse yourself in the action. The reload animation now runs at 60 fps, has MSAA support, and more making it almost like a remaster rather than a simple upgrade.
In addition to Killer7’s appearance, the gameplay has also received a cannon of updates. There’s a new character select screen, the ability to skip cutscenes, removed references to “memory cards”, and more along with tons of bug fixes.
Killer7’s major update is out now, and you can save 75% off until Friday 8th November. If you want the full lowdown, head over to Steam Announcement Post Learn exactly what’s new and changed.
It all happened as SUDA51 and Shinji Mikami, the two creative minds behind Killer7, witnessed a remake of their earlier game. Unfortunately, as our Shadow of the Curse of Hela Remastered review proves, some things are best left in the past. On the other hand, this update to Killer7 should show that, on the contrary, there are some things that are definitely worth updating and exploring in the modern era.
