Just one day later, Valve reverses Team Fortress 2’s “biggest” change in 17 years

Valve just reversed course Team Fortress 2 Adjustments made 17 years after release. I’m not talking about weapon balancing, map changes, or even team adjustments. No, I’m talking about Scout’s pants. While Deadlock continues to receive major updates and Counter-Strike 2 continues to receive weapon tweaks, Team Fortress 2 players received a small but impactful update that ended up being sold out within 24 hours .

On Thursday, October 24th, Valve finally fixed a huge issue in Team Fortress 2 . Since their introduction in 2007, Blue Scout has had issues with its pants. In fact, he always wore red pants and a blue t-shirt, which I’m sure caused a lot of problems from the waist down over the years. Then we got the Team Fortress 2 Blue Scout update and everything worked fine for the FPS game.

Wrong. Those rolled up navy blue slacks have a very short lifespan. On Friday, October 25th, Valve made the changes again. “The fix for the BLU Scout pants was restored because it conflicted with too many existing cosmetics,” the team wrote. As painful as it is to get a taste of heaven only to have the Holy Grail ripped from your fingers, it makes sense. If you’ve been buying Scout cosmetics in free PC games for years, the last thing you want is for the color to change and ruin the money you spent.

Valve’s groundbreaking shooter has been through this lately. First, Droid Crisis caused players to downgrade Team Fortress 2 to “Mostly Negative” on Steam, before updates finally fixed Droid Crisis. Then the Team Fortress 2 comic was announced to be back, and then an anti-bot petition was even sent to Valve’s actual headquarters.
